Vilsack to pay visit to New Hampshire

Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack is scheduled next month to make his first visit to the key state of New Hampshire as a potential presidential candidate, Granite State Democrats said Thursday.

Vilsack has accepted an invitation to headline the Manchester City Democratic Committee's annual Flag Day fund-raiser on June 14, said Ray Buckley, vice chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

Vilsack has taken steps in the past year toward running for president in 2008. He is finishing his second term and is not seeking a third in November.

Vilsack is among the last would-be 2008 Democratic hopefuls to visit New Hampshire, where others have made multiple trips.
