Special thanks to my new Western Iowa friends who make phone banking enjoyable today! I will never forget what Walter told me: "Whoever wrote 'It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp' outta try being a Dem in Western Iowa." Rock on, Walter.

As far as I know, both Vilsack and Pederson kept a public distance from the primary.

He'll end up in DC as a lobbyist, anyway.

but closer than I'd like). I didn't know he was from the 'burbs, but I'm not surprised.
What I propose is a swap...I return to Iowa, Chet goes to the 'burbs. Everyone's happy!!

18. Jim Nussle was born in Des Moines... |
|
After that, I guess he lived in Chi-land.
Chet? You mean Jim, I hope....

I was born in Davenport, but have somehow ended up in Illinois
I'd still be interested in a swap.

You've made the right choice!
And Nuzzle shouldn't be hard to defeat, really. You do have his "family values" talk and his family neglect walk!

16. Sadly, I had to watch from a distance |
|
Bloun tried to paint himself as "Vilsack's man". Vilsack never made an endorsement, but people I know considered Blouin closer to the governor, and Culver more progressive. From what I've read, that looks accurate.

Vilsack stayed neutral and never endorsed anyone, which is interesting considering how close Blouin painted himself to Tom.

I went to the Culver rally in Des Moines last night -- a two-hour drive but totally worth it. It was AWESOME!!! I stood like 10 feet in front of Chet when he gave his acceptance speech.
It's nice to, for once, be part of a campaign that won.
To all Blouin and Fallon and Mohamed supporters: Welcome aboard; let's kick some Nussle ass!

Lead on Chet! I've been behind you all the way, 'cept maybe a few days. But we are all ready to follow you into the battle! Here is hoping you win and leave a legacy of integrity like your father and his father.
