The "Chet Culver isn't very smart" bull didn't work for his primary opponents, don't know why it will work for Nussle.

Oh, well. Again, Culver's opponents didn't have much mud to throw at him, Nussle is going to have to make his shit up as well. (And he will :eyes:) We just have to be ready for it (Which Culver was in the primary - VERY well run campaign).

5. Nussle's no genius, right? To the extent the "Chet is dumb" thing

might play out, remember that it can backfire. After all, if you say Chet is dumb, well...he better be dumb in the debates. Also, rebpublicans like dumb politicians (see www.whitehouse.gov for more info). They are usually referred to as folksy--and it plays well here.

The great thing is that right now, republicans believe they have someone special in Nussle who is guaranteed to win against this "guy named Chet." After all, Nussle has more money, name recognition, etc. Remember Jim Ross Lightfoot anyone? I don't want to be over confident, but I think we have them right where we want them.
