Something I saw on Daily KOS thread is bugging me
In the middle of a thread about the pictures of Kerry and Kennedy at the soldier's funeral last week, someone mentioned how nice it was to see them together, even though it was a badly kept secret that they don't get along.

Massachusettians (is that the right term?) can you shed any light on that comment? Debunk? Confirm? I've always thought of Teddy as being sort of John's big brother. Wrong?

Any info appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Erica

12. I thought they had a great relationship.
Teddy has, however, used every available opportunity to verbally tease Kerry. Ted has a great sense of humor and he loves to use that humor at Kerry's expense. The junior Senator has learned over the years to lighten up and give as good as he gets. But the relationship is on even ground as far as I have heard. (Staff rivalries used to be pretty good though.)

3. I saw Ted and Vanessa together here in Maine last Spring.
Ted was fired up for John's candidacy...I think they don't always agree on specific issues, but who does?

4. Well, Kerry being a "New Democrat;" and Teddy not would do that
But Kennedy looked like somebody shot his dog at Kerry's concession speech. So I kind of figured it probably wasn't true. Even so, I like to go to the horse's mouth, so to speak. Must be the journalist in me.

Thanks, guys.

5. I have no doubt Ted was crushed.
I think he has lots of old scores he wanted to settle with the Bushes...I hope he'll live long enough to see the day.

7. I've never heard that they don't get along
Kennedy was very supportive of Kerry's run and gave him his staff to help out, including Mary Beth Cahill if I'm not mistaken.

11. Bay Staters, I think
We are Bay Staters for purposes of the local news.
Massholes to people from Cow Hampshire. (I do think that Mainiacs like us, however.)
And commie, pinko, liberal, out-of-touch, dangerzoids to Fox News. (I think. But who cares what they think.)

15. I'll shoot whoever invented

the 'Massatshoozets' mispronounciation. It was my pet peeve about Shannon O'Brien. Then I heard some State House fellow use it too.

And I don't care what people in Neocon Dumpshire call us. Notice how the 'Taxachusetts' thing has gone away as their property taxes have gone skyward.

13. Massachutensians
That may not be the spelling, but when we moved here my husband looked up what we were called.

I'm from Connecticut, and I have no idea what we're called. Nutmeggers, I guess, or what my friend calls "Connecticuties." LOL

14. Probably not
But it sounds funny, and the other ones are too hard to say or too general like massachusetts liberals. (What about massachusetts greens, independents or socialists) No one knows that massachusetts is the bay state. I'd like to be called a Massachusettian.
