Travelin’ Mitt costs taxpayers thousands (boston heraLd)
Gov. Mitt Romney's 49 days of globetrotting this year has cost taxpayers at least $20,000 in state trooper salaries alone - not including hotel and other costs - but the administration has dragged its feet on releasing actual figures.

Unlike previous Bay State governors, Romney has balked at releasing his spending records, citing a court ruling exempting the office from public records laws. A spokeswoman said last night that the office would ``begin to assemble the information'' after confirming a $276 payment demanded from the Herald for the public records.

The Herald has repeatedly requested Romney's out-of-state travel expense reports, starting in July, and has appealed denials to the Secretary of State's office. Those appeals are pending.

Romney, who travels with a minimum of two state troopers at all times - including on vacations - spent 18 days in Washington, D.C. for various meetings, speaking engagements, book signings and other business. This past weekend, he traveled there again with a staffer and two troopers for a journalists' conference.

In addition to the Super Bowl in Houston and the Olympics in Athens, Greece, Romney hit Las Vegas, New Orleans, San Francisco, Ohio and Minneapolis for various governors' association meetings and Bush-Cheney campaign trips.

2. The Emperor has no clothes
The Mittster has done exactly nothing for the state of Mass since his election. Unless, gay marriage bashing counts as an accomplishment. But this guy gets mentioned by the fawning media for every cabinet post available to becoming the next President. He better get a job or run for President because one-term is all he's getting here.

7. Talking points from KKKarl?
Perhaps they want to discredit him even before the presidential campaign? Can't ruin Jebbie's coronation!
