Wow, that commute SUCKED. |
|
I went in late this morning...unfortunately that meant more snow! 95N was not plowed yet...of course there were some SUVs driving 80 while us saner folk were doing 45, and then there was the clown who felt that 2 feet was a suitable distance to leave between our cars.
I love my ABS and snow tires. Really.

1. bad out here in western MA also |

came in late by crawling down I-91 from Northampton....figured I'd make the attempt having just put on new snow tires - shouldn't have bothered since I'm the only one in.....

2. I have seen so many asshole drivers in the past few days |
|
that's par for the course in MA, but the conditions are still pretty dangerous.
In the city, cars are getting stuck on side streets all over the place. It's bad, and today's snow will make it even worse. :-(

:hi:
I'm working from home today. I only work 3 miles from home but I'm not going to take the chance of people sliding into me. People still think they can go above the speed limit. Crazy.
It's helped that there's been no school buses and schhol age pedestrians to contend with, but the traffic is still awful.
Tell your boss you'll work from home the next couple of days! ;-)

We don't have a VPN connection (yet) and even then, I've switched to the dark side and have a Mac at home.
Took Monday off though; I'm no fool.

7. My toddler won't let me |
|
I could work from home using my cable modem and the Windows remote desktop, but my 16 month old would spend all day trying to get me to play with him. I'd only be able to say no for about 5 minutes ;-)

But I don't like my ABS, pulled the fuse on it. It's too sensative.

Here in the valley in central NM, it's often a long time between significant snowstorms, a long time during which a lot of people move out here from places like LA.
When it does snow, the snow is quickly pounded into a sheet of ice on the roads. Clowns from LA think that 4WD means they can still do the speed limit on those sheets of ice. They usually end up doing doughnuts and smashing into the guard rail, and you're damed lucky if they don't smash into you first.
I drove in Massachusetts for 20+ years, went to work the day after the 78 blizzard because I didn't know the state had a travel ban. Out here it's very different, and 4WD or not, nobody is going to make me do over 25 MPH on ice!
The aggressive drivers from LA would be fun to watch if they weren't so dangerous.

9. Massholes do the same thing-excessive speed on ice |
|
there was a 6 car pileup on 495 South at Rte 38 this morning. My sister was caught in the traffic behind the accident. Cause was excessive speed and icy/slushy conditions.

10. Thank God I am working at home |

On Monday when my husband and I were clearing our driveway, I couldn't believe how many morons in trucks went fishtailing down our road far too fast for conditions.
And don't even get me started on tailgaters, or the Mass habit of pulling out on you so you have to slam on your brakes.

12. My drive in was fine. |

There were MANY masshole drivers going WAY too fast in all types of cars. This is to the prick in the black Ford F-150 pickup with the "Footprint of the American Chicken" sticker on his back window.....When turning left, use the LEFT lane, not the right. Use a blinker.
