Red Sox sink from world champs to the bush league
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 06:28 PM by paineinthearse
We need a DU outing to Fenway the first day Schilling takes the mound. We need to turn our backs and/or moon him or come up with something appropriate.

Anyone with me?

5. Your place or mine?
I've been a Sox fan for 50 years. My loyalty is to the club, not some free agent who came from out of the organization.

You?

3. it's one thing to show up for the traditional photo op
it's another to make the photo part of the clubhouse ...

The changed attitude of the perennial underdog was noticeable even at the entrance to the Boston clubhouse, where a photo of the Red Sox at the White House with the former Texas Rangers owner, President Bush, hangs on the bulletin board.

4. The winners always go to the White House
If they had counted the votes properly, they would have had a photo op with President Kerry in the Rose Garden.

It's their fate to be cursed, those Sox. They exchanged the curse of the Bambino for the curse of the Chimp Photo Op. The only thing we can do is cheer them on until this curse, too, is lifted, and the photo is replaced by one that features a proper president.

And if it is tacked to the bulletin board, perhaps next to a note that says "Missing: Jockstrap" and a notice saying "ALL TOWELS IN BINS" I certainly wouldn't consider that a place of honor.
