(Whitman) Teens list sex desires on Web
Well, at least they're not out skateboarding...

Teens list sex desires on Web
By Debbie Seele, Enterprise correspondent

WHITMAN — When Whitman police Detective Stephen Drass opened a link to a Web site a concerned mother sent him, he was surprised to find profiles from Whitman youths who provided their real first and last names, addresses, photos and sexual preferences.

While most of the kids were young teenagers, they claimed to be over the age of 18.

Since parents can monitor Internet use at home, many of the kids wrote that they accessed the site at the Whitman Public Library, and growing concern over the use of inappropriate sites by minors has prompted the library trustees to start work on a policy to protect minors without infringing patrons' right to information.

On the Web site Myspace.com, Drass found 151 profiles from Whitman kids. One was the daughter of a friend who had posted a picture of herself standing in a prom dress in front of her house with the street number clearly visible. Another 14-year-old using her real name filled out a sexual profile stating she liked rough sex 10 times a day.

1. Holy Shit! That's just dangerous!
I don't mind of the teeny boppers want to talk about sex and stuff, but to give their names and addresses - fuckin' dangerous.

And scary.

I hope none of those kids gets molested or stalked before they can get their info off the web.

2. I wonder how many of them are setting-up profiles for OTHER people
"I'll show Jennifer not to fuck with me. Okay... 'I'm Jennifer Smith and I like rough sex ten times a day. My address is...'"

3. I remember =in my old CompuServe days not understanding the questions...
Around age 13 or 14, I filled out an online questionnaire:

Sexual Orientation: Well, since I'm a virgin and never actually HAD sex, So I guess I'm supposed to check the box marked "curious."

Water Sports: Oh, yes! I love SCUBA, waterskiing... I'll check that box.

Family fun: Yes, I like to go to amusement parks and stuff with my family. I should check that box, too.

Breath Control: That must mean some sort of yoga. I'm not into that, but I guess I'd be willing to try it. I'll check that box.
