Date: Thursday, September 8, 2005
Time: 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Please join us Thursday night for an educational symposium asking the tough questions raised by Hurricane Katrina. We will explore:
The human actions that made this disaster so much worse The inequity of impact of the hurricane on the poorest people in our society, disproportionately people of color The implications of reporters knowing more, at times, than government officials What does New Orleans have to do to rebuild? What can we at Tufts do to respond, both short and long term?
_Speakers will include:_
Ann Rappaport, UEP Professor and Co-Director of the Tufts Climate Initiative
Paul Kirshen, CEE Professor and Director of the WaterSHED Center
Paula Aymer, Sociology
Professor Margie Reedy, University College Senior Fellow and former news anchor at NECN Rachel Bratt, UEP Professor
After the panel presentation and discussion we will talk about what we can do at Tufts to respond to this natural and unnatural disaster.
