Jet Blue to land in Austin

JetBlue's Boston flight is the first nonstop service from Austin to Boston since 2002, when American Airlines eliminated its offering. Come on down to the bluest city in Texas!

JetBlue to land in Austin
Upstart airline adding nonstops to New York, Boston.

JetBlue Airways is coming to Austin, with nonstop service to New York and Boston starting in January. JetBlue's Texas entrance is part of an ambitious expansion plan by the fastest-growing major U.S. airline.

Starting Jan. 19, JetBlue will have three daily nonstops to JFK International Airport in New York and one to Logan International in Boston.

It is the airline's most ambitious expansion in its six-year life. Like other discount carriers, JetBlue is seeking to fill voids left by larger network carriers, which have been slowing or cutting back domestic capacity and focusing on more lucrative international flights.

:kick: Note: Jet Blue is the highest rated Airline that contributes to Democrats per Buyblue.org at 68%. (Frontier 67% and Hawaiian Holdings 100% contributed less)

1. Excellent news for Boston/Austin singer-songwriters
Actually Cambridge or Sommerville, but y'all call this entire area "Boston" anyway. Plus Boston and Austin rhyme.

2. I actually saw the Austin Lounge Lizards in Somerville many years ago.
Maybe 1989 or '90, at Johnny D's. Great venue, great band!

And I never noticed Boston and Austin rhymed, but good call.
