Liberal Catholic Churches in Boston? |
|
Does anyone know of any parishes in the Boston area (that are still open) that have a liberal bent?
How about Episcopalian (Catholic-Lite)?
Thanks!

1. I work at an Episcopal church that might fit the bill. |
|
It's Trinity Episcopal Church in Newton. I've never gone to the services (since I belong to a Congregational church, one of the most liberal you can find), but whenever we get any kind of fundie mail (gay-bashing, etc.), the priest immediately chucks them into the trash.
A friend of a friend goes to a Catholic church that doesn't sound too bad, but it's one of the churches they're closing.
BTW, you're driving me crazy with those pics of your adorable kitties in your sig line; when am I going to get to meet them? :-)

2. What do you mean by liberal? |
|
Do you mean a church that actively supports liberal causes? ('Cause if you are thinking about abortion, gay rights etc., I think that you'd have a very hard time finding a Catholic church that supports those).
Do you mean a church that keeps it's nose out of anything political?
Do you mean pastors/priests that are open-minded, and open-hearted, yet adhere to Catholic teachings?
Do you mean parishes that actively support human rights causes?
If the above is what you mean, then I'd guess that my church fits the bill.
