Bring candles and lighters or matches, please. The program will include reading the names of the soldiers who have died in Iraq. We will also remember the uncounted Iraqi civilians who have lost their lives in this incursion.

1. I'll be there !!!
We have friends in Huntington Woods. It seems like that whole neighborhood is involved in the anti war movement !

I was at the "Women In Black' march in Eastern Market today. I'd say about 75 people showed up to march in silence.
Maybe 3 or 4 pro-war imbeciles heckled us, many more seemed supportive. Quite a few seemed embarrassed or inconvenienced or indifferent.

2. I missed the hecklers
I was with the big head puppet towards the back, my daughter was wearing it. You must have been towards the front? I didn't see any hecklers at all, but quite a few people honked and flashed a peace sign, or a power-fist thing (not sure what to call that).

3. Solidarity Fist !
That's what I call it.
Yeah I was at the front, I was one of the guys
carrying the orange sign that said "Join Us Now"

One of the hecklers called us "commie bastards" as you were approaching from your car (couldnt miss the puppet !) and he sped off in his gas guzzler. The others told us what they would do to the "towel heads" if they had their way. It's hard for me to remain silent in the face of such ignorance, but I know it's more effective to not engage. It also makes them look really small.

I look forward to seeing you Saturday !
Peace, Joe

4. That's kind of funny
"The others told us what they would do to the "towel heads" if they had their way."

Big talk from people that aren't over there fighting, eh? I guess they got their way ... they got someone else to fight their war so they don't have to be inconvenienced.

5. I live in "the Woods"
and have done a few things with the Peace group, but won't be able to be there on Saturday.
