Wetterling trailing Kennedy financially

WASHINGTON - Democratic congressional candidate Patty Wetterling has raised more than $350,000 so far in about two months, her campaign said, as she tries to narrow the financial advantage of her opponent, Rep. Mark Kennedy.

Kennedy, R-Minn., has raised $1.3 million, according to numbers released by his campaign. The two candidates are battling for the 6th Congressional District, which cuts a swath from Stillwater to the north and west of the Twin Cities through St. Cloud.

The numbers are as of June 30, the end of the last reporting period. Neither campaign has filed its most recent report with the Federal Election Commission. The June 30 reports are due July 15.

Kennedy's campaign also reported cash on hand of about $965,000. Wetterling's campaign estimated its cash on hand at close to the $350,000 it had raised.

1. Repukes will target this race heavily.

They know their candidate is horribly weak, and Wetterling a particularly strong challenger.

However, it will be interesting to see what they do. If they try to go negative on Wetterling, it will REALLY backfire. People respect & admire her - any attacks will bounce right back.

The MN Repubs have always had the money, yet they still lose, or win by very slim margins.

Screetch Kennedy knows he's got a big target on his @$$ this year. Wetterling is a VERY strong candidate with high name recognition and the entire state working for her.

Remember her district includes Washington and Anoka County so you can volunteer to door knock or walk in parades if you are from the Twin Cities without having to travel to far.

7. Has Patty placed ads on any high traffic blogs yet? Minnesotans

will probably contribute a ton of money but it sure would help if she could get internet-wide exposure.
