5. No rain in Minneapolis/St Paul.
Huge crowd on the Lake St. Bridge. Both sides, all the way across Wall to Wall! Many, mnay more than I expected from the short notice and lack of publicity in MSM.
I have a bunch of Pics, and will post them in about 30 mins!!!!

8. 50th & France: Good turnout for this area!
There were between 150- 200 people at 50th & France in Edina. I thought it was great for this area. It was peaceful. A lot of horn honking and peace sign waving in support of the rally.

15. Difficult to estimate.
It wasn't possible to SEE everyone at once because of the hump in the middle of the bridge. There were TWO distinct groups spread out down both sides of the bridge separated by a pretty wide roadway. Trying to estimate the crowd (or take pictures) was difficult because you there was only one part of the crowd at a time in the field of vision.

katinmn said there were over 700 Registered. (I didn't register, so add ONE to her tally)
My feeling was about 1000.
It was way more than I expected.

Yeah, it's really hard to estimate how many people were there. For example, I was there and didn't see the group of "radical leftist" gray haired folks (as mzmolly put it - ha!) until you posted the pic. It was a great vigil and we got a lot of support from the people driving by. I'm so glad I live in a blue state. ;)

On edit: I just found an AP article on the vigils and the Lake Street vigil is mentioned. Whoo hoo! Looks like your estimate of about 1000 is right, bvar22.

In Minnesota, about 1,000 war protesters stood on a bridge linking Minneapolis and St. Paul. "This war has been disgraceful, with trumped-up reasons," Sue Ann Martinson said. "There were no weapons of mass destruction and the Iraqis didn't have anything to do with 9-11."

23. Strib says 1,000
and that's not counting the legions of supportive people driving over the bridge and honking or flashing the peace sign.

I posted them to a thread in GD that has everyone checking in from the individual rallys. It is still pretty wild in GD. I may post them after things settle down.
I appreciate the kind words.

21. It was a great night
Ms. Northernsoul and I caught the ol' 21 bus down there and even managed to grab a few neighbors on the way.
I stil can't get over how many honks / thumbs up / peace signs we got from the folks driving past.

27. It was a great scene....and I have to say...
...when the drivers of Cadillacs and big SUVs honk, wave peace signs and hoot in support of the demo, there has been a sea change.

about 19 of every 20 vehicles that went over the bridge were supported. For a long time I thought I'd never get flipped a bird, but some weasel in a truck hanging a flad out the driver's window came through for me...

That was me with the "Bush Must GO" sign. appropriate for many occasions!
