Minnesota State Fair thoughts....
What were your thoughts on the DFL booth this year?

Your thoughts on Air America's (950am) booth?

I saw Dayton's & Coleman's booths as well as all the candidates for 2006 election.

2. They can't control the power of the station
And the State Fair area is pretty weird when it comes to radio reception. Lots of interference from the two downtowns, the Shorewood towers. KUOM's tower is near there, so that would cause the largest interference.

AM waves are very strange and are prone to interference.

5. 1280am & 1500am both had their talk shows blaring....
very clear for all to hear throughout the day. My buddy wanted to stop and look at the "big dawg" cycles by the Patriot booth and I couldnt stand just having to wait there and hear that crap for about ten mins.

950am needs to get someone with a computer with some sort of internet reception... hook it up to some speakers and play it for all to hear.

8. Those two stations are much more powerful

And Salem and Hubbard have much more powerful resources for that kind of thing. These are big companies.

Though the computer streaming idea is a good one.

3. I though AM 950's booth looked pretty pathetic
The DFL booth was pretty much the same as it always is - I liked the computers they have set up to send messages and the wall of Post-It notes where people explain why they are a Democrat (a number of them were in the vein of "because I think").

I picked up a couple buttons there, one says "Rabble Rouser" and the other says "You bet your sweet ass (picture of a donkey) I'm a Democrat". I thought they could have done more with anti-Bush and Pawlenty stuff.

We were dragging 3 kids ages 5,6, and 8 with us so I didn't see as much as I usually do - I may have to go back a second time because I completely missed Dayton's booth and didn't get a chance to go harass the Republicans.

7. Anyone see the booth upstairs in the grandstand exhibit hall that said...
in a huge sign the length of the booth "unborn babies do feel the pain of an abortion". Interesting booth since the news just two days ago said that a new report came out saying they didn't feel the pain. I think (and i'm sure) it was some pro-life booth but didn't get the name of the organization.

Maybe they already had the booth all done before the news came out and then thought... "oh crap, now what do we do!". Or maybe they made it after the report came out to counter it. If i go back i am going to ask them.

12. Several candidates had their own booths
Klobachur, Dornan, Bell and Mark Kennedy's had this lame fishing shack theme. A guy names Fitzgerald running as an independent had a sad looking booth also. I took some photos so I will have to post them.
