Heard on NPR: Cherie Yecke to be Florida chancellor for K-12
She was appointed by Jebbie.

Poor, poor Florida. Shall we warn them?

3. Time for an expose in the local rag....
It is the view of the committee that Commissioner Yecke has demonstrated both incompetence and malfeasance in her tenure as head of the state's Department of Education.

First the incompetence: In the endless controversy over the state's new social studies standards, Commissioner Yecke has demonstrated an inability to oversee development of these standards in a timely and respectful
manner and to achieve an outcome that broadly satisfies educational professionals, experts, parents, and the general public.

=========================

Unfortunately, Yecke's rise and fall make it even less likely that any of these issues will receive a serious hearing in the years to come. Thus the late, unlamented Commissioner of Education may be gone but her legacy continues to exert its negative influence.

BTW, thanks for the warning!!

4. Poor Florida
But Jeb should know what he gets. She was nothing but a shrill in the media in the past few months here.

But we got her imported from Virgina I remember.

6. I heard she was running for office in western MN.... Let Florida have her.
She and Bachmann were like two peas in a pod. Maybe she can interest Michelle in moving?

Cheri Yecke had already raised $47,727 according to MPR. http://news.minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/2006/campaign/congress/district6/

Still leaves 4 other republicans going for that seat. 5 if you count Elwyn Tinklenberg "kind of a Dem", and Scott Mortensen as the only true Democrat.

YIPPEEEEEE!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

It must be a family trait to hire only the most incompetent and corrupt person for each job.

11. Not far fetched at all
according to KSTP: "Political observers said her departure would probably be a plus for Sen. Michele Bachmann, R-Stillwater, who won't have to compete with Yecke for the votes of social-conservative Republicans."

12. Of course
why should the Republican rank and file get to choose, the point is to clear the primary early for the "approved" choice from DC. They cleared the way for Kennedy pretty quickly, I can see them clear the way for Bachmann to reach out to the "opressed" religious people.
