getting out the vote
Dont you all think that just by getting more people to vote the democrats will win? Just think if we actually had 60 percent of the eligible voters vote in this election. We would win in a landslide. In Minnesota I think traditionally we have good voter turnout, and we are a traditionally left of center.

There are more of us than there are of them. Trouble is, they are more fanatical and vote in higher percentages. Lots of Democrats get paid by the hour and can't afford to be late to work, so they skip going to vote on Election Day, or don't bother registering.

The best solution is absentee ballots. Anyone who might not vote on Election Day for whatever reason should get an absentee ballot. Fill it out, send it in, and relax on Election Day. Republicans have been fattening their turnout with absentee ballots for years.

Democrats should do the same. Any Get Out the Vote campaign should pass out absentee ballots in a big way. It's lots easier than having to transport people to the polls.
