Franken on KARE 11's 5pm broadcast... |
|
Holy hell, did he make no bones about pushing Kerry. It was great. I figured there would be a Wellstone memorial type of backlash after that, but who knows.
He did receive a great crowd reaction though.
Bush can write off MN as far as I'm concerned.

2. Just came back from the Fair where he was being interviewed |
|
in front of the DFL booth. Unfortunately, it was so crowded and noisy that I couldn't hear what he was saying.
I watched for political buttons on passersby, and Kerry buttons and T-shirts seemed to be slightly more common, but only slightly.
When I went to the booth to buy a button, I was told that all the Kerry/Edwards buttons were sold out, so I got one that side "Democratic Women, the life of the party."

3. I worked at the MN State Fair DFL booth on Saturday |
|
from about 12:30 til 6:00. It was wonderfully crowded (packed!) the whole time!!
Al Franken arrived to a great reception about 10 minutes to 4:00, and was introduced to a terrific crowd at 4:00 by Mike Erlandson, the state DFL chair. Al gave a rousing speech to the crowd, followed by several interviews and of course autographs to adoring fans! It was great fun and a wonderful day at the Fair!
