Breaking News: DFLer Kevin Dahle Wins Northfield Senate Seat - Veto Proof Majority! |
|
Edited on Fri Jan-04-08 10:25 AM by wellst0nev0ter
Let's see how Timmy the Tool is going to rule as a dictator now. It's not being reported on the Secretary of State's website, but a credible report on the ground indicates that Northfield contains a wide enough margin of victory for DFLer Kevin Dahle to avoid a recount and give him the win and the DFL Senate caucus a veto-proof majority. Final numbers: Dahle (DFL): 6802 | Cox (GOP): 5225 (via http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/4/21633/53923/956/430270">Daily Kos) Edit: Star Tribune link

1. GOP mouthpiece Michael Brodkorb scrambling for excuses |
|
On Dec. 31, GOP paid mouthpiece Michael Brodkorb was claiming this race was a foregone Republican victory:
"The talk at the Capitol is that the DFL may have already written this election off. There is still plenty of time for the DFL to get their act together, but a Republican win on Thursday would be the 2nd Minnesota special election that Republicans have won this year."
On Jan. 2, Brodkorb was saying it was going to be close:
"It's now 3:02 p.m. and an afternoon of door-knocking has produced a collection of positive remarks and enthusiastic support for the Republican-endorsed candidate Ray Cox. I expect a close election, but the positive feedback has kept me warm on a cold day."
But after Cox had his ass handed to him--55% to 42%!!!--Brodkorb is running for cover:
"NEGATIVE POLITICS WORKS… January 4, 2008 12:49 am
"Just ask Ray Cox and the Minnesota DFL. Cox was defeating by DFL candidate Kevin Dahle in the SD 25 special election. The DFL spent money on negative mailings and negative radio ads in the final days of this campaign. According to sources close to the race, the DFL didn't spend any money on promoting a positive message about Dahle."
I guess if anyone would know anything about "negative politics," it would be Brodkorb. We'll all be anxiously awaiting his positive messages about his client Norm Coleman and an end to the negative politics about Al Franken.
