We do not select our preferences, the way we do with presidential candidates, right?

Some here mentioned "walking caucus" what does it mean?

Do we break into groups, like they do in Iowa? Franken supporters here, Ciresi there and so forth?

Thanks. It is difficult to be a responsible citizen when the rules are confusing. In 2004, even the - what is the term caucus chair? - was not sure. Thankfully, we had an old hand who really has been there done that..

8. This is crazy! There were about 24 people in my caucus in 2004

and it is not as if many did not show up. We were shown to a classroom with that many chairs.

2. your are correct, to affect congress and senate you must go to next round

The ballot will be for president only and will be binding later on in process when party selects delegates to Denver. In order to affect the Congressional and Senate endorsements you will need to volunteer yourself to be a delegate or alternate to your upcoming senate district convention. It is likely just going to be a matter of raising your hand. If more people want to go than there are spots, then there will be election and a walking subcaucus is a possible way it could happen.

5. this is how the confusing situation will work

There will be no walking caucus at precinct level and no congress or senate selection there either. Delegates to the district conventions are selected by straight up or down vote. Depending on where you are it's usually not a big issue to get to the district convention.

At the district convention delegates seated will be able to vote for congressional candidate.

for Senate Race
At the district conventions I've been at, we've voted on whether to do walking caucuses or not. Always has been walking subcaucuses in my experience. The groups can be about many things. Including a declared senate/presidential candidate. After all the falderall the groups then select delegates to State convention based on numbers aloted. At the state convention all seated delegates will be able to vote for their Senate choice
