Is this "newspaper" simply a shill for the Repug Party?
The April 24, 2008 edition trumpets Paulsen's nomination by CD-03 Repugs, but I've seen blessed little about Capt. Madia (USMC) winning the Dem nod.
Has anyone else noticed a consistent right-wing bias by this fine publication?

When I lived in a small town in Oregon, the local newspaper's pre-election coverage always covered only the Republican candidates. They didn't have the courage to make an endorsement; they just didn't cover the Democrats.
However, thanks to the college located there, the town usually ended up with a Democratic majority anyway.

2. Sun in Edina has givent good coverage of protests |
|
Sun in Edina gave us good coverage of protesting Alliant Tech. The group is called Alliant Action.. to end land mines, cluster bombs, and depleted uranium munitions. Anyhow, there are a couple major direct actons.. (arrest), that happen per year and the Sun in Edina often does good coverage. the two major news papers don't even mention it.
When I lived in Eden Prairie (which was only 1 yr) I would pick up the Sun over the Star Tribune.
It might be who is the editor of that particular Sun. At least it is easier to get your LTE in the Suns than Star or PP.
I'm not saying the Sun didn't give GOP bias to the article.

3. There are weeks when I miss the Sun because usually only 5 or 6 |
|
copies get left at my apartment building. I do remember seeing one laying in my friend's living room and I would swear that it had a front page article about Madia getting the endorsement. I will confess to not reading the article.
There is no doubt that a long time ago the Sun was pretty much a shill for the local Republicans, but I do think it's much better balanced than it used to be.

I don't grab it every week, so I may have missed reading some articles about Dem candidates and events.
I've been waiting since the CD-03 convention to see if, and how, they would cover Ash's nomination. Unless it got past me last week, and that's entirely possible, I haven't seen anything about it in the Sun Current.
It's not just the Ash story, though ... they prominently displayed puff pieces about Repug caucuses with nary a word about Dem caucuses.
