This is the time of year that charities ask for donations |
|
That's OK. Ever since we were both laid off the first time some 15 years back, I have always given to at least three charities: a local food bank, Habitat for Humanity and the Alzheimer's Association.
But since we moved to MN I am a bit confused. Right now I am looking at a request from Minnesota Food Share, and from Emergency Food Shelf Network.
I actually tried to talk to someone last year to find out what was the difference between these two groups but am still confused. Anyone?

but I believe foodshare is a program where people volunteer someplace a couple of hours and pay $20, then get $40 worth of food. It is a way for people to save some $ on food. They get a box of food, a variety.
The food shelf network is just what it says, helps food shelves.
I will also put in a pitch for Legal Aid. These offices help people on issues related to hunger, homelessness, health care, discrimination, abuse throughout the state.

3. Thanks. And now I got one from Hunger Solutions |

This was the one that I started two years ago, when I read about them in the strib. They are located in Arden Hills. I think that they are food shelf.
