bush makes being intolerant and stupid fashionable
Buncha old w/m's that think they've been burned by the system. Like my uncle. He's a bitter, hateful man now because he spent his career being 'overlooked' because of women and minorities were promoted and not him. nevermind now he's retired with a lake home and plenty of money. George is their (his) hero. George makes it so a guy doesnt have to bother about the details.

Its like jesus said, "kill a man, and you kill for a day. teach a man to kill, and you can watch killing for a long time, until that first guy gets killed, then you have to teach another guy to kill". I remember when jesus said that.

2. For the past 40 years, the right wing has a goal of making selfishness
fashionable, because the entire conservative ideology is built on a foundation of selfishness (all for me, me, me, none for you, survival of the fittest, no sharing allowed). To make their ideology take hold, they have relentlessly promoted selfishness and materialism as an alternative to sharing and community. They have effected a sea change in the culture of the U.S. that the rest of the world hasn't quite gone along with. Now Americans are so selfish and think only of their own needs and wants rather than even bothering to think of the good of society as a whole or even their own neighbors. We have become a nation of strangers each pursuing our own gain. It's sometimes called the "wilding" of America. The result of this cultural change that liberal ideologies, which are more oriented towards community, sharing, and the public good rather than individual gain, seem to be almost at odds with the current state of mass American culture. It was necessary to make this cultural change in order for the conservative ideology to take hold on a big scale in the U.S.
