*****Get Together**** Fri*** (Feb.11)***** 7:PM****
The Diebold tabulator indicates that Friday Night has won the free and fair election. There will be NO recount because your vapor ballots have vanished!

I contacted Mad Hatters Teahouse, and they welcome us.

Mad Hatter's Teahouse
943 7th Street West
Saint Paul, MN 55102

It is on West 7th St between Randolf and St Claire.

Traveling west (away from downtown) St.Paul toward the airport on West 7th St from the Excel Center, Mad hatters is about 1-1/2 miles on the right hand side of the street.
If you cross Randolf, you have gone a couple of blocks too far. I don't remember a sign that hangs over the street, but the name is painted on the store front glass.

There is no food menu beyond bagels and buns, so eat first.

7PM Friday...Feb 10 (Tomorrow).
See Ya!

3. Parking curbside on W7th,
or on the side streets. Usually not a problem after 6PM.
Neighborhood is middle working class, urban renewal local owned mercantile fronts on W7th.
Relatively safe (as those things go.)

Terra alert MINIMUM, so duct tape not required.

13. Yes, We will.
If I may use the collective WE.
This one was impromptu and quickly assembled in response to Marc Dayton's announcement.

Sorry you can't make it and apologies for the lack of notice.
Hope to see you next time.

Bob

17. As Promised!!!!!
As promised, an anonymous inside source "close to you know who" disclosed insider information on a steamy sex scandal!!!! We were all SHOCKED & AWED!!!.
We were all sworn to secrecy, so we can't tell you anything, but this is sooooo good.
Watch your newspapers!

We were a little cramped early due to a scheduling conflict with another group, but managed to squeeze in at Mad Hatters.
We had a good session, covered alot of ground. We reached a unanimous group consensus on one subject:

We all need to contact Mark Dayton and offer our thanks, understanding, and support!
He has been a very good liberal advocate, and will be unhindered by campaign concerns for the next two years.

A Minnesota DU salute to bush*!

stackhouse........katinmin....GAspnes..bvar22.....dflprincess................dpbrown

oscelot was also there, but left before the picture.
As usual, we had a great time.

PS: That part about the sex scandal,........ I made that up.
My bad.

18. Hey, you all look great!
Wish I had been there to offer my salute to Bush.

The dance concert was not to my liking. I left early.

And I was SOOO hoping that the sex scandal you mentioned at the top of the message was real.

So we are going to get together again soon.

If you E-Mail me a pic of you giving the salute, I can shop you into the group shot.

Of course, you know you will never be able to run for political office, right? :dunce:

Sorry I missed this one, but this is the weekend of Valentines Day, which is very special to my wife and me. We first met ten years ago as of the 7th, and our first date was ten years ago as of the 14th. Needless to say we celebrated last night. :)

Count me in on the next one! :grouphug:

Maybe not as Democrats, but we could certainly run for the Party of God , Family Values, and Harmless Fraternity Pranks!.

33. I couldn't find you
I drove up and down 7th 4 times. I parked 3 times and got out and walked, looking. See, I forgot to bring the address (doh) but I've been on 7th MANY times and I'm thinking, "How hard can it be?" I went into a bar at 620 7th and they never heard of the place. Said, "isn't that a head shop?" Looked in the phone book, couldn't find a listing. So at 7:30 I quit looking and went home. Sigh. Oh well, see ya next time.

34. I had the address and still drove by it twice
The 2nd time I spotted a sign in the window - not easy to see. Thankfully, there was no traffic behind me on the second pass so I could poke along. Then, I thought I was parking fairly close but managed to get turned around the way the streets slant there (and having no sense of direction) and wound up parked two blocks a way.

It was a great little place but, next time let's find a place with a parking lot and a BIG sign.

35. Next time we meet in St. Paul we should go to the Black Dog
near Mear's Park and the Warehouse District.

Enufalready and I were there for a DFA meeting on Sunday and one of the co-owners is a liberal who joined us for the meeting. I felt most welcome there!

It's a bigger place with lots of space and larger tables for meeting. They serve food, beer and wine also.

Since we didn't give much notice on the last meeting, we ought to start planning the next one soon.

drive by the side of the building and park next to the paid lot, parallel park by the chains. And as I'm sure you know, meters are free on weekends and evenings.
