Kerry and Edwards to visit Zanesville July 31st

ZANESVILLE — John Kerry and John Edwards, the presumptive Democratic nominees for president and vice president, will visit Zanesville on July 31.

The Saturday visit will come on the heels of next week’s Democratic National Convention in Boston, where it is expected that Kerry will receive his party’s nomination for president Thursday.

The candidates will arrive by bus, and a rally will be held in Zanesville in the evening. The bus tour will spend the night in Reynoldsburg before continuing on to Springfield and Bowling Green on Sunday, Aug. 1.

President Bush is expected to be in Canton the same day, just showing how important the state of Ohio will be in this year’s election, said Rep. Ted Strickland (D-Lisbon).

How can I help?

Do I need tickets?

Where can I get some signs, etc. to put up before he comes?

Do we know his route? It would be great to have the way plastered with signs to show our support.

I'm really excited about this. I was never really interested in politics before. I really want to meet them and shake their hand.

If I contribute $$ can I get my picture with them?

I just hope my employee is willing to work that night, so my wife can come too. He schedules his weekends off way in advance, and has commitments at a private pagan nature sanctuary.

2. If it goes the same as his Canton appearance:

You can help by contacting your county democratic party.
You will probably need a ticket to assure that you get in.
The Kerry team will have signs, etc. for you to hold. Some were signs that were handmade at the county headquarters. Some were professional signs.
We had no idea of the route he would take.
Kerry did at least a half hour of autographs after he spoke. Get there early and get a place up front. A specially colored ticket will get you there. The more time you spend at the county headquarters, the better your chance will be for a moment with Kerry. The county will need money to buy signs, etc. Donote if you can.

6. Call the Columbus office

My coordinator said you could print tickets from the website. I can't find anything there. We are supposed to get a hundred tickets in New Philadelphia, but they haven't arrived yet. Here is the number in Columbus. Give it a try. I will check back tomorrow evening and try to get you some more help.

My coordinator also said you don't really need a ticket. However, experience tells me that you will want one. The gates are supposed to open at six. That means that they will open at five. Kerry will speak at 8:15.That means 9. Does this sound like wonderland where everything you see is something different?

Will he speak? What hotel? We work in Pickerington and I would like to swing over that way
