Sign in Dayton suburb reads "Communists for Kerry" -
What's that about?

The sign is at Far Hills and Whipp Rd., at the old Fazoli's restaurant.

VolcanoJen and I saw some guy carrying a sign at the Kerry Rally at Fifth Third field that read "John Kerry Eats Babies."

I don't get these signs . . .

Can someone shine some light for me?

2. Send them some recruiting materials...
for the Communist Party of America (even if you have to make them up). Then see what kind of reaction that gets. :-)

4. These Jackasses are out of place
They think they're still in Kentucky or somewhere so they act like they're still there and think we'll treat them normally. Unfortunatly they run into someone like me and re-discover who one the Civil War.

5. They're getting out the moron vote
The local news did a story last night about some jerk in Cleveland (an Arab no less) who painted a "John Kerry Baby Killer" mural on the side of his junkyard, with Kerry holding a fetus. This guy has apparently pulled several such stunts in the past, though this is the first time I've heard of him.

It would be just as easy (and more truthful) to put up signs saying "Nazis for Bush", "Terrorists for Bush", or "George Bush Soldier Killer", but of course such a thing would require a smallness of spirit, a meanness of soul, and a simplistic mentality that is not usually found in liberals.

13. How about "Vote the Bible?"
That sign seems to be real popular here in SW Ohio.

Just what does it mean? Maybe "thou shall not kill" -- as in an unjust war?

Nah, I didn't think so.

Oh, and then there's the huge stryofoam Jesus, too.

15. The huge styrofoam Jesus is on I-75, just south of Middletown.
It's in front of the Solid Rock Church.

So far all that's completed is his torso, but the rest of him (waist down) is on the way.

I've heard that when someone is baptized in the little pond in front of Jesus, he'll light up and shoot beams of light from his fingers.

Whatever.

I don't think I realized it was styrofoam. Cracking up over your light beam comment- you are joking, right? Have you seen the signs going north on 71 that say HELL is real and the ten commandments?

19. Yes, lizzie, there is a light-up Jesus.
I'm serious. The plan is for Jesus to light up and shoot some kind of light out of his fingertips when a person is baptized.

I'm not clever enough to have made that up.

And according to the sign on I-71, I guess all us "libruls" are going straight to hell.

And I thought the only reason I'd go to hell is that I once voted for a Repuke. It was Rockefeller, and he acted like a Dem.

17. Oh, yeah -- quicksand Jesus!
We saw that last weekend, driving down to see my mother. We laughed about it for at least ten miles -- the fact that he looks like he's sitting in the pond, I mean.

"Communists For Kerry" is a little bit of brownshirt theater that was started in response to "Billionaires For Bush," supposedly. They do the same kinds of things -- apparently, they duped a Fox News reporter (can't imagine that's all that tough, but anyway) into believing they were a legitimate organization. They have a website that says, right on the site, that they're a Young Republicans group that started CFK in response to BFB*.

Not only are they turds, they're recycled ones.

He used to take his horses to Mexico for breeding purposes. Wink, wink. When a horse died while down there, he refused to allow an autopsy on the horse -- even though insurance would not pay for the horse without the autopsy. Sounds a little fishy to me . . .

Seems he made a bunch of money, found Jesus, started a church, and found Jesus again: this time a HUGE styrofoam Jesus.

Go figure.

26. They have lapel pins with that saying on 'em...
...saw 'em on the TV this afternoon. Was flipping channels and came across some fundagelical ranting and raving about Hollywood and corrupted values, etc. etc. At the end, as he was selling his videos and other junk, he also offered to send his loyal listeners pins that say, "I vote the Bible."

And as for the styrofoam Jesus...I just have this image of it blowing across I-75 in a windstorm. That is about the most offensive thing I have ever heard of. Gemdem used to work with a guy who went to SR. Insufferable, but then most of 'em are.

9. It's gone
Drove past around 10 a.m. Saturday morning and the sign was gone. There was a Kerry/Edwards sign by the street, though, that I don't think was there last night.

But it's gone.

22. I was called a commie today
I was doing lit drops and this guy came storming out of his house wanting to know what I was putting on his porch. (Like he couldn't tell from my Kerry shirt and hat.) He shoved the lit back at me and said he wasn't voting for any commies and he didn't want any commies in his yard.

I thanked him for his kindness and left.

People like that need to take a political science class and learn what these terms mean. I'm surprised he didn't call you a traitor as well.

ON EDIT: Further thoughts that I just couldn't help sharing, as if anyone cares.

27. You did the right thing, POAS.
During an event here in Dayton, I was selling yard signs and K/E T-shirts and had some fool try to run over me with his van (of course it was adorned with BC04 stickers!

After my initial fright, I thanked him for coming and he was shocked. Didn't know what to say.

I just don't get got their minds (and I use that term loosely) work.

Before I got to the visibility at Dorothy Lane and Far Hills on Saturday, apparently a car made like it was going to swerve into the crowd.

23. What a bummer...only 33 percent of voters think Kerry will win, CBS Says
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/10/31/politics/main652497.shtml

(CBS) By Jarrett Murphy, CBSNews.com producerIn a CBS News/New York Times poll out Sunday, President Bush has the support of 49 percent of likely voters to 46 percent for John Kerry.

Forty-nine percent of likely voters think Mr. Bush will win, to 33 percent who bet on Kerry. More voters see the president as strong, a man in tune with their priorities, someone who says what he thinks. Fifty-five percent approve of the president's handling of the war on terrorism.

So the poll seems to be pretty bad news for Kerry, and good news for Mr. Bush.
