How long can Triv deny his own logic? |
|
Yesterday, during the afternoon drive, he is ranting about the "problems" of the Sears/K-Mart merger.
All of a sudden, he starts sounding like a "liberal" - starts quoting from a documentary on PBS!!! - "Is Wal-Mart good for America?"
I could have driven into a lamppost on that one!
The discussion goes on about how one interviewee stated that "Wal-Mart has effectively told us that the only way that we can get contracts with them is to have our manufacturing done in China". Something to that effect.
He might not have said it a while ago, but when Rubbermaid was failing earlier this year, they pointed out that they could not compete with "foreign production costs" to be able to get shelf space in Wal-Mart. Hence, the negotiations with Wal-Mart hinged on the lowest costs.
This from a company which built its initial reputation on "selling American goods", right?
Of course, at the time, all the Right-Wingers were saying "now all the employees are going boo-hoo because their jobs are going to low-wage countries. Too bad for them! You gotta keep costs down!"
Triv even mentioned Clear Channel, in an indirect way, that "when you get down to two or three suppliers of whatever, then you really don't have a choice". He said something to the effect of "I don't really wanna start naming things, but I work for a large company . . .".
This is the turd who says that, after four years of running things into the ground, ending up with record deficits and schools going to hell, Governor Bob Taft should be fired, but President George W. Bush is doing a great job.
