1. Are you aware there are laws against kidnapping? |
|
This is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard ... and I heard it from elsewhere a week ago.
Your anger is justified, your solution is another thing entirely ... and it's not good.

2. a citizen arrest is just that; a citizen arrest- not kidnapping |
|
he should be arrested and brought to justice palin and simple.
Let me ask you if you are aware of his blatant disregard and actual breaking of law in the form of denying citizens access to the ballot results?

Because you may have just won one for the most asinine and counter-productive post in the nearly four-year history of Democratic Underground. For starters, in the State of Ohio you can make a citizen's arrest of an individual who is in the process of committing a felony -- and strong disagreement with a ruling by a public official doesn't even rise to the level of misdemeanor. I don't like the ruling either, but it ain't a crime until a judge says so.
Secondly, you're probably going to be visited by some of our friends at the Treasury Department because making threats against a public official -- especially threats that are politically motivated -- is a subject upon which they are particularly touchy.
So take this in the spirit of the holidays when I say, "Shut the hell up."
