EqualityOhio - coming soon to a county near you...

I spent the weekend with about 60 GLBTQ folk and allies from across the state creating a new statewide organization whose mission is to transform Ohio into a state that is welcoming for all.

More details about all that was accomplished this weekend from an organizational perspective will be publicly announced soon - but if you are interested in getting regular updates now about what is going on in Ohio in response to the passage of Issue One (or in contributing information about what is going on in your neighborhood), you can join a mailing list from: EqualityOhio.org. There is also a survey that you can take to give us the best chance of making the organization into one that can meet the widely varying needs across the state.

If you live in NE Ohio (other than Cleveland) and would like to help link/share/brag about your regional activities to the state organization please PM me - I am one of two folks sharing responsibility for connecting NE Ohio (outside of Cleveland) to the statewide org.

I won't take the survey or anything but would like to be kept up to date. I am a former Ohioan (Ashtabula County) but now live in North Carolina. Let me know when you get an infastructure up.

If you know of anyone in Ashtabula (groups or individuals) with whom it would be helpful to be in contact with I would love have the information - or if you have suggestions as to what might be effective transforming hearts and minds in your former home I'm all ears.

groups.yahoo.com/group/OhioSnowbeltDemocrats you will find some good like minded people in Ashtabula and Geagua counties. It is the group of Dean people for that area. I will pm you tomorrow with phone and addies of the former Dean leader in the area.
