Columbus- A formidable coalition of Christian and anti-abortion groups plans to fight the $2 billion "Jobs for Ohio" bond issue because some of the money may go to embryonic stem-cell research.
Their grass-roots network represents the first significant opposition to this fall's Issue 1, which has drawn bipartisan support and a reputable chairman in former astronaut and U.S. Sen. John Glenn.
Adopting the "Just Say No" motto coined by former first lady Nancy Reagan, representatives of the Christian Coalition of Ohio, the Pro-Family Network, Cincinnati Right to Life, Citizens for Community Values and others called human embryonic research unethical and immoral.
