another McMansion with Palladian windows.

Edited to add: so where does the guy live - Leesburg or Herndon? The original newspaper article said he lived in Leesburg, but this website says he lives in Herndon. Since the website provides a street address, I'm changing the "Loudoun" in my original subject line to "Fairfax."

2. Good question. Some journalist I am...
I found ... that K Santorum is the owner of record of 17650 Tobermory Pl
Leesburg, VA 20175-7052, and the Loudon County tax asessor's office has a pretty good site ... <http://inter1.loudoun.gov/cgi-bin/db2www.exe/webpdbs/re... > which gives all sorts of PUBLIC information when asked about that address.

...

is part of a post I submitted a few weeks ago when this first broke. I wonder why he author of this otherwise cool site has a different address. I got the Leesburg address by doing a 411 search. Hmmm..

I searched Google News for "santorum leesburg."

Google News for santorum leesburg

There are 197 hits, and this one was a little way down the first page:

Cyber school faculty offers free services to Santorum's five children

....

When Santorum was first elected to Congress, he lived in Mt. Lebanon. In 1995, the Santorums sold that house and bought a house in Herndon, Va.

In 1997, the Santorums, who have six children, bought a two-bedroom house for $87,800 in Penn Hills. They and two other adults use it for a voting address.

In 2001, they sold the Herndon house and bought one for $643,361 in Leesburg, Va.
....
<<

I don't know who's living in that house in Herndon, but I don't think it's Rick and Karen Santorum. I will leave a search of the Fairfax County website for the real estate tax assessments as an exercise for someone else.

4. CORRECT info on ricky's Virginia plantation, including map can be found...
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 01:35 AM by corporatemedia
where it's been posted for weeks!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=175x2676

it's about the sixth item under "other resources" - loudon county. the correct address is 17650 Tobermory as listed.

you can do things like, create a "layered" map, find the acreage, and how much tax (about $8,400) he pays. but i don't know if there are additional municipality and/or school taxes in VA like there are in PA. Even without additional taxes, the Old Dominion receives more tax money from ricky than the people of penn hills and allegheny county put together.

WHAT I STILL NEED IS A PICTURE - of the right house of course.

if you go to the link in my list, and then to the map option, then select parcel, major roads, buildings, and road casings layers, you'll be able to get an idea of the main road leading to ricky's Virginia plantation:

sanTARA

i lived in fairfax va (from 1987-1989) and worked in Herndon and the adjoining town of Reston (that part of fairfax is sometimes called Herston). it looks like that area. notice the sidewalks? the building pictured is in a development. there are many like it in the Herston area. i don't think ricky's 4 acre plantation has sidewalks!

some of the coolest web sites aren't necessarily the most accurate.
notice the offer to "Recieve" their periodic newsletter. Oops forgot the spell check again! not bad on a "post" but should remember to do it for a web site. they may have thrown it together quickly, so once they get their info right, it will be a cool site, and i'll put it on my list (and eventually a link on a web site that is coming soon to an "internets" near you!)

"Would someone else please contact the website owner and see if he can clarify the issue??? the address listed is:

5. Where in the world is Rick Santorum?
At Sam Spade, I looked up the address of the person behind the page and sent him an email, repeating just what I said in my previous post. For the benefit of whoever is living in that house in Herndon, I hope he gets his names and addresses correct.

Best wishes.

no way would I pay 750,000 for that.

I think it's funny that they went to his house in Pa and took a picture of it empty.
