Good news PA.http://www.post-gazette.com/breaking/20040527pollp6.aspGrowing opposition to the war in Iraq and shock over the alleged abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. troops have erased President Bush’s lead over Democratic candidate John Kerry in Pennsylvania, according to an independent poll released today.
The Quinnipiac University poll of registered voters showed Kerry and Bush running about even in the presidential race, with 44 percent and 41 percent respectively, while 7 percent were undecided and 6 percent favored independent Ralph Nader.
A similar poll in April showed Bush leading with 45 percent, compared with 39 percent for Kerry, the senator from Massachusetts who is the presumptive Democratic nominee. Eight percent backed Nader and 7 percent were undecided.

Bush’s job-approval rating slid to 41 percent in the latest poll — a six-point drop since April and the lowest since at least June 2002 in an important battleground state in the presidential election campaign. Fifty-five percent gave a negative rating to Bush, who lost Pennsylvania in 2000 and has visited here 28 times as president in hope of carrying the state in the November election.
