Another traffic question? What if I took 121, to 114 to 183 to the I35 |
|
Would that help me bypass some traffic down I35 around 7:30 in the morning?
Is there alot of traffic on these highways too?
Thanks

If you are coming form the North Fort Worth or Denton area then the 114 does merge with the 183 and I would take the 635 to I35. I used to take that trip everyday. The commute sucks so leave early.

5. From the Denton area does the 635 have less traffic than the 114? |

You have to take I-35 to GET to 635 (since it doesn't go up to Denton). I-35 southbound from Denton is a parking lot in the mornings. I would avoid it at all costs.
It starts backing up north of Lewisville, and doesn't clear up until you hit LBJ (635). It's BAD.
I don't know about 114. You've got folks from Southlake and Trophy Club heading in that would probably jam it up too.

Why not move to Dallas? We're more liberal down here anyway. I won't go north of the turnpike unless under extreme duress.... and, *really,* all of the cool kids live south of Northwest highway. ;)
(Well, ok, MOST of the cool kids.

6. I'm screwed, Whats the turnpike? |
|
I'll get used to it eventually. I got to tell you the roadway system out here sucks. I just moved here from CA, and picked the city we live in based on the schools and closeness to a lake. I've been looking for a job since the end of November and its slim pickin's so I think I might have to suffer through a commute.

12. Also known as "One ninety," its old-school name. |
|
They don't sign the roads with their names, usually just their numbers, but everyone around here calls them by their name.
75 = Central Expressway 635 = LBJ 35 = Stemmons
What else?

When they named it, smirk had not yet been (s)elected. When I found out they named it after his crooked old man, I was pissed. I lived along the intended route(Carrollton/Trinity Mills). I moved...
When I'm in the area, and I drive by 190*, I get pissed off all over again.
* I refuse to call it anything other than 190.
on edit: as for the original topic of this thread. You're S.O.L. The traffic sucks no matter which way ya go. Glad I don't live there anymore. Welcome to Texas though, we need more Dems.

10. The answer is yes, you'd bypass some I35 traffic, but |
|
you would lose your ass in those other road's traffic.

stand with. I have a feeling you have a short fuse. Good luck.
Get to know your traffic, it's not our job, here at DU, to teach to you how to deal with "it" best. I'm quite certain you will do fine, now, go away. Okay?

cags said she just moved here!
If I just moved somewhere new, I'd ask for insight on traffic flow too.
We keep saying we need more liberals here. Now we have one. Don't drive her away right away by being so harsh. Empathy is ususally an admirable liberal trait.
Just a thought. FSC

Thank you in advance for addressing my harshness. Sorry, once again.
Thank you FSC and C for slapping me down. I ask to be forgiven, nerves way to on edge.
