On January 20, 2005, the City of New Orleans saw a unique and powerful antiwar direct action in the Jazz Funeral for Democracy: "A Wake for Peace". The organizers of that event have now formed the Louisiana Activist Network (LAN) and are staging the next event, New Democracy Rising: "Awake for Peace" on March 19, 2005.

Southerners take a lot of heat here in this forum and elsewhere as a result of our RED STATE status. This event gives southern progressives an opportunity to send a message out to the rest of the country and to the world that we still believe in America Lost.

All you folks on this board from Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, ect. should consider making an appearance @ NDR on March 19th.
