Michael Shermer in Dallas this past Sunday |
|
It was sweet! By my count, I think 75 people turned up to hear Shermer speak about his latest book, Science Friction. Some of us even had drinks with him at the Blue Mesa afterwards. First time either ginbarn or I had a margarita in a loooong time - I got the frozen blue one. Mmmmmmm...oops, where was I? Oh, yeah - Michael Shermer, director of the Skeptics Society and publisher of Skeptic magazine. He gave a great speech on Sunday, even though his flight was delayed a full hour and he was recovering from an earlier traffic mishap. Excellent job.
Will try to post some photos soon...

Always says what I wish I could say but is nearly a trillion times smarter and more articulate. Wish I possessed his reasoned and non-confrontational acumen the next time a friend starts on about his latest ghost sighting or another tells me how accupuncture can cure cancer and auruas are real. And if you happen to think those positions are reasonable, please allow Shermer to take you behind the woodshed...in a reasoned, non-confrontational way of course.
