Yikes...between this and that God awful "Sheer Dallas" show, Dallas' reputation is really gonna take a beating.

The fake drugs scandal could go Hollywood.

At least two producers have expressed interest in retelling the story of about two dozen immigrants who were jailed in Dallas after paid police informants planted fake drugs on them.

Mr. Lara is one of the two independent producers considering a fake drugs movie for distribution in the United States and Latin America. In 2002, he received the Binational Committee award in Hollywood for a documentary about Mexican immigrants in the U.S.

Mr. Esparza didn't comment on details regarding his project, but did say filming could begin by year's end, as long as there is an arrangement with actors and actresses who can "draw" people to cinemas. He would like to hire actors such as Sergio Goyri ("El Puente," "Comando implacable") or Flavio Peniche ("De pocas, pocas pulgas", "Corazones al límite"), who are big in Mexico.
