Is there really any point in contacting Hutchison or Crony with
my opinion? I have sent notes to her but she just spouts back the party line.

1. Hutchison will sometimes be supportive of women's issues
but she wants to be gubner in what will be a tight pug-ugly primary, so don't expect any morality or sense from her for the next two years.

Cornyn is only interested in being senator until he drops dead, so he's going to take the Helms/Thurmond route of playing to the worst prejudices of the majority while lavishing pork on his bidness associates. He is a deeply vile man.

2. No, but do it anyways!
Cornyn will not deign to acknowledge letters. KBH sends a boilerplate response, entirely dependent on the subject you select out of the list. I have discovered the subject is all they look at by intentionally selecting the wrong topic.

8. Exactly right
There's no such thing as a wasted letter, either to our elected officials or the press. It's somebody's job to read every one of them, and that "somebody" might just get an education from your letter! Never give up, never give in!

6. I used Gun Owners of America
I used the Gun Owners of America site to contact them. They are only likely to care if one of their core groups complain such the the gun owners.

7. Not really, but I do anyways.
I know that no one actually reads what's written. I wrote her on stopping the FCC after the craziness of a boob on tv (heaven forbid! :sarcasm:), and the form letter I got months later was "Yes I am for more rigid regulations." Um, hello, I'm against that not for it.

9. Oh yes.
In fact there's even more reason to sound off to republicans so that they know there is some opposition. They think they so vastly outnumber us... best way to personally show 'em they're wrong is to be a thorn in their side, IMO.

11. The Dallas Morning news got an earful...
a month or so ago in their email box from local Dems. On the paper's website they had a blurb from the email person that said how EXTRA FULL their email had been that week--all from Dems protesting chimp's attempt at jacking w/ SS. I thought it was kinda cool that the local right wing rag admitted how many DFW Dems were writing protest emails, etc...
Have you all noticed how many more anti-DeLay articles are on the DMN website lately (on the political section and TX news sections)?? Every day there is a new one. Guess they got the word from chimp and Rove that bugman is being cut loose sooner rather than later!! Has to be cuz they were given the OK to run the articles cuz HEAVEN forbid the paper actually decide on their own to reflect the almost 50% "blue" commmunity!

12. Well, you will at least get a response

from Hutchinson, it will be boilerplate and designed to drive you mad, but it will be a response.

My rep Jim Solis is good about responding and he's generally on my side, so I heart him.
