1. It's mystifying to me
that his numbers are THAT good. But of course, it would be.

2. Still way too high...
I can't believe that wingnut keeps that high of an approval rating; even considering it's not all that high.

Sure, it would be one thing if he were at least some sort of terribly charismatic leader; but he seems to stay pretty low profile. My question is, has this guy done one thing, besides running with an (R) by his name and being linked to "fearless leader" Dubya, that would make people- even your average right-wing Texan- "approve" of him? Okay, I thought of something: he helped push through Delay's gerrymandering. But supposedly a majority of Texans were against that!

I know I probably shouldn't even be wondering about this; the vast majority of voting Texans don't follow politics much and are probably simply saying they approve because they don't know of anything particularly horrible that has been directly linked to Perry. It just makes me sad. Perry is one of the most pathetic excuses for a leader I've seen in my life, and yet nearly half of the voters in the second most populous state in the nation are willing to say they "approve" of the job he is doing.

Things have been getting worse in Texas, and I believe this is a sign that they are not going to be getting better very quickly...

3. Governor is largely
a ceremonial position in Texas. Had there been anything to the blogosphere's slanders last year, more attention would have been drawn to him.

But he is just furniture these days. Also, he is the first graduate of Texas A&M ever elected to this office. Where I live, there is a natural tendency for Aggies to rally around each other.

And what is strange is that you don't have to have gone to school there to be an Aggie. There are way more "Aggies" in this state than there are actual graduates of TAMU.

The same doesn't hold true to nearly as great an extent with respect to my alma mater in Austin - "TU" - as the Aggies call it.

I suppose I should refer to their school as "UMAT" in return, but I don't feel like descending to their level of pettiness.

Aggies exhibit a lot of cult-like tendencies. It is hard to see how that can translate to someone as dull and drab as Perry, but I would imagine he's been at rallies where all the Ags go "whoop" while he speaks.

5. Aggie Computer Virus
Aggies don't program. So please delete some files at random and then reformat your hard drive.
