Governor Rick Perry stirred Texas Republican Party fervor today with sharp attacks on gay marriage, abortion and presumptive Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites). As the GOP's state convention began, the re-election bid of President Bush (news - web sites) took center stage as did the Republican effort to seize control of the Texas congressional delegation.
