Texas Republican incompetence
As we all know the Goopers control absolutely everything in the state of Texas. It's their government. Yet, after four attempts, including three special sessions, the legislature has been unable to come up with a plan to overhaul school finance and revamp the state's tax system. I wonder who they are going to blame come election time. It may not matter much, given the dilapidated state of the Texas Democratic Party. So many Texans have become accustomed to just voting the straight Republican ticket every other November that it's going to get harder and harder to get people out of that pattern. I think there are many parts of this state where voting Republican is like part of your identity for being a "good Texan". Rick Perry has a 37% approval rating, and I'm convinced that he will still be re-elected next year, though maybe not by the 58%-40% that we won in 2002.

1. I know tons of democrats in this state
Let's get a new perspective.

There is no reason whatsoever for wingers to maintain control. On any level. Uh-uh. I'm not convinced.

2. Well, from what I know
the friends that I have that are moderate Republicans, hate Perry. Though, I don't know any hard-core right wingers, everyone that I've spoken with wants Perry and everyone else out ASAP.

My own mom is a republican (I would say a moderate, definitely not a nutso), she's always voted republican, and she can't wait to vote Perry out....and she's not impressed by Keeton-Strayhorn either.

I think there's a lot of positive signs coming from everyone that Perry won't be re-elected.

Did you see the editorial in the DSM Saturday? They even said it's best for the legislature to just stop pretending to do anything, before they actually screw over everyone. I was surprised.
