http://www.statesman.com/metrostate/content/metro/stories/08/10TRMPAC.htmlState District Judge Bob Perkins on Tuesday once again ordered two former officials with Texans for a Republican Majority to stand trial on money-laundering charges.
John Colyandro and Jim Ellis, consultants to the political action committee created by U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, are accused of laundering $190,000 in corporate money into legal donations from the Republican National Committee to seven Texas campaigns during the 2002 elections.
State law prohibits corporate money from being spent on campaign activities, but lawyers for the defendants argued Tuesday that the law is vague and confusing. They also attacked the indictments on similar grounds.
Interesting news day. Tomorrow Cindy Sheehan may be arrested for just wanting to ask the President why her son and other American sons and daughters have to die. And the DeLay crooks are yet to be jailed for their crimes of money laundering. One step closer to putting the real crooks behind bars.
Keep Cindy Sheehan Free !
