To the residents of Crawford
You're tired of the protests. You wish they'd go home. You want your lives back.

Don't blame the protesters, blame Dubya. It's not the protesters fault that he's using your town as a backdrop to prop up his cowboy image.

Hang tough and ride out the storm, Crawford residents. As soon as he doesn't need you anymore, he'll sell the ranch, drop that fake Texas accent, and retire to Kennebunkport where he belongs.

Want your town back to normal sooner than 2008? Go to http://www.votetoimpeach.org/ and lend a hand. If we work together, we can get your trashy neighbor out of the White House and out of your lives for good.

19. He's a chickenshit! That's why he won't meet w/ her!
She's too smart for him and he won't be able to play the dumb wanna be cowboy.

2. All I have is one question for the Texans.
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 09:45 AM by nookiemonster
Doesn't it piss you off that a Connecticut elitist tries to pass himself off as a Texas cowboy?

This is not a Connecticut bashing post!!

Just wonderin'

:silly:

4. Absolutely!
Somebody has studied the accents of Jeb and George, and found them quite different. George's "Texas" accent apparently ebbs and wanes according to whatever, too.

Great original post, Coolonion.

My speculation on why the boys took over Texas and Florida is that (a) they are large states with many electoral votes, (b) they are states with some wealth (i.e. lootable wealth), and (c) they are two of the states with the biggest coastlines, which offers opportunities for illegal shipments of god-knows-what-all that can profit them.

5. I always mention that he's from New Haven!
When people start making generalizations about Texans, I always bring up New Haven. "Actually, Bush isn't a native Texan, he was born in New Haven, Connecticut," I say, then launch into a rant about how "all" residents of New Haven are a bunch of braggin' swaggerin' war mongers--for comic effect of course & not real CT bashing! But it does make me mad that this right wing group picked our state to launch their neocon agenda, and yes--as a real native Texan, I'm sick of Bush's fake cowboy act.

8. I've seen quite a few posts from our Texas contingent here...
...and many cite an old saying from that state: "All hat, no cattle."

That pretty much sums him up.

14. That's a good quote.
The editorial cartoonists have picked up on that one, drawing him very small, ears protruding from a gigantic cowboy hat!

6. He does not belong in Kennebunkport
maybe if he or his father ever paid taxes in ME he would be more welcome there, but he doesn't so Maineiacs will keep pointing out that the Bushes are from Connecticut. Besides Maine is a blue state.

7. Maybe we could send the whole family to Mars
Dubya keeps talking about going to Mars and that we should have a Mars colony--why don't we send the whole Bush family?

11. Sol would be better - let's leave Mars pristine for a few thou years
Besides, if * worries that he might burn up on the trip to Sol, point out that they'll make the trip at night . . .

15. I'm thinking of a line from Star Trek...
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 10:24 AM by mcscajun
"We beamed it out into open space -- widest possible dispersion.
That thing can't die. Its consciousness may continue for some time, consisting of billions of separate bits of energy, floating forever in space, powerless.
But it will die finally."

There's a pleasant thought for a Monday Morning... :)

17. How 'bout "Lost in Space," starring the Bush family?
You've got the parents (Bar and #41), Dr. Smith (Dubya), the robot (Karl Rove) and the kids (the twins). If anyone knows of a comedy troupe in need of material, pass that idea along!

16. I prefer exile to an oil platform in the gulf.
The family's alliegence has always been to oil and wealth, rather than to the USA. It's appropriate.
