Where to see your Democratic candidates this week
(Those of you going to Crawford today, travel safely!)

Chris Bell (Governor)

Bell is coming to West Texas on August 23rd to speak to Midland and Odessa Democrats at a dinner hosted by the Texas Democratic Women of Midland. The event starts at 6:30 PM at the Hilton Midland Plaza at 117 West Wall Street, downtown.

8/27/2005: Chris will be in Tyler to address the Rural Texas Democratic Summit. The Rural Summit begins Friday evening with a Blue Ribbon Ball, and then on Saturday there's a full day of meetings, workshops, and guest speakers, including Ohio Congressional candidate Paul Hackett, Attorney General candidate David Van Os, and presumptive candidate John Sharp. Bell will be speaking on Saturday morning, at the Ramada Inn, 3310 Troup Highway, Tyler. Regristration for the conference is $25 per person, and space is limited; register by phone at 903-530-5157 or by email at etdemsummit@hotmail.com. (Contact the Ramada Inn separately for lodging arrangements.)

8/28/2005: Chris will join Hays County Democrats on Sunday, August 28th as they hold their annual LBJ Birthday Party celebration at the world-famous Salt Lick BBQ restaurant, 18001 FM 1826, in Driftwood.

Felix Alvarado (Governor)

Alvarado will be at the the August 26 meeting of the Texas
Democratic Women -- South Plains, at Furr's Family Dining, 6001 Slide Road, Lubbock at 12:00 pm.

David Van Os (Attorney General)

8/19: Van Os will be the guest speaker at IBEW 7th District Conference in Austin.
8/20: David will be appearing at the No-Nonsense Rally in Austin beginning at 10:00 a.m.
8/20: NWPC -- National Womens Political Caucus, Noon Luncheon
8/20: The Van Os family and friends will travel to Crawford and be at Camp Casey in support of peace.
8/25: Hear Van Os speak at the Franklin County League of Democrats, Mount Vernon.
8/26-27: David Van Os will be one of the featured speakers at the Rural Democratic Summit in Tyler.

Barbara Radnofsky (US Senate)

Barbara is attending a West Texas fundraiser Friday August 19th, hosted by Sue Weninger at the Caprock Winery, 408 Woodrow Road, Lubbock.

Barbara will have breakfast on Saturday the 20th with the National Grain Sorghum Growers Board in Lubbock, have a private fundraiser in the afternoon, and attend the Cattle Barons Ball Saturday evening.

Next week Barbara attend the Gillespie County Fair and Parade in Fredericksburg. She will be in Fredericksburg and Kerrville from Thursday the 25th through Saturday the 27th. Look for her in the Yellow Dog Convertible in the parade Friday morning!

John Courage (CD-21)

John will be attending the Northwest Bexar County Democrats meeting in San Antonio at 8:30 a.m. Saturday Aug. 20th at the Luby's Cafeteria on Bandera Rd.

On Sunday the 21st he will be attending a fundraising event for the San Antonio Area Progressive Action Coalition at the Bethany Congregational Church, 500 Pilgrim (at Panda), inside Loop 410 in San Antonio.

Nick Lampson (CD-22)

Lampson will be at a morning coffee at the home of Rick and Kelly King, 3622 Shady Grove Drive in Manvel, TX (Brazoria County) on Saturday the 20th.

Nick will attend Indiafest in Houston later in the day at the George R. Brown Center.

(But that's mostly because I have to take a diuretic for my blood pressure.)
