We've all seen how George Bush is trying to lay the blame for his failure to respond to Hurricane Katrina at other people's feet. We all need to be writing letters to the editor of our local newspapers and otherwise letting people know the truth. Please send us your letters to the editor or other pieces so we can be aware of them.

Chairman Charles Soechting Addressing Press Reports that Karl Rove will be Handling “Rebuilding Bush’s Image” in the Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina

A note to all elected Democratic officials:

Now that Karl Rove is in charge of cleaning up the Bush administration’s image in the wake of the Katrina disaster, here’s what to expect:

1) Deferred attention away from:

A. The fact that Bush continued his vacation in Crawford for two days after Katrina hit;

B. That he did a high-altitude “flyover” of New Orleans in route to the safety of the White House;

C. The widely acknowledged incompetence of the new FEMA Director, who’s only qualifications for the job is that he was the college roommate of the previous FEMA Director, Bush crony, Joe Albaugh;

D. Condi Rice being spotted shopping for new shoes in Manhattan after Katrina struck;

E. Rove’s ongoing legal problems.



2) Blame placed on anyone but the current Bush administration for the “unacceptable” initial response to the hurricane. This includes, but is not limited to:

A. Hardworking Local Officials in Louisiana even though they have been, literally, in the trenches 24/7 since Katrina came ashore;

B. The victims themselves who, allegedly, have been “staging” the whole disaster for the national media.

Ok, I didn't mean this to be a poll, but what the heck, I'll make it a poll. How many LTTEs do YOU plan to send? And tell us where?! :D

Enjoyed your impassioned speech last night. Reminded me of something I wrote to Diane Sawyer when she referred to Howard Dean as "angry." I told her she's been talking to politicians too long & needed to hear what the "real people" were saying. I wrote that Howard Dean was pretty soft-spoken compared to me and my friends.
