We had a great kickoff for the Whistlestop Tour. What better place to get David's campaign off than the historic Barr Mansion with Jim Hightower to give us the lowdown on the state of our state. We had a very good crowd, the food was excellent and the music by Tres Lunas was wonderful. The decorations were very festive. And we even had a train whistle musician who provided the whistle sound when needed. It was a lot of fun.
The Progressive Populist Caucus presented David the Spine Award. I learned that only 12 of these awards have been issued nationwide. Our own David Van Os if one of the very first to get one. David had us stomping our feet.
JIm Hightower was funny as usual and said that of all the things he really wanted for Christmas was a real Democratic Party alive and kicking.
David gave us a rousing speech about working hard and taking on the corporate interests that are holding our democracy hostage. Not just because it's the right thing to do but because it would be his duty as Attorney General.
