A press conference/rally will be held in Austin, TX, on Tuesday, July 13, in conjunction with the nationwide "Computer Ate My Vote" Day of Action. A national coalition of groups, including Democracy for America, Common Cause, MoveOn, TrueMajority, Working Assets, VerifiedVoting.org, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility, and National Committee for Voting Integrity, is encouraging election officials to use their authority to require computerized voting machines to produce paper records, which can be verified by voters and kept for audits and dispute resolution.
A joint petition of signatures in support of this issue will be presented at this event. More details to come.
