Corpus: Come see Juan Garcia at 4:30PM
From Juan:

WHAT: Juan Garcia Campaign Kick-Off with General Wesley Clark
WHERE: Selena Auditorium, 1901 N. Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi
WHEN: Thursday, January 26 2006, 4:30-6:00 PM

Please join my friend General Wesley Clark and me at a special event this Thursday as we kick-off my campaign for the Texas House of Representatives. The Kick-Off event is open to the public and will be at 4:00PM at the Selena Auditorium on Thursday, January 26. The event will also be "webcast" live at 4:30 PM central time on the website "The Red State" (www.theredstate.com).

I served under Clark's command during the war in Kosovo, and we later got to know each other through the White House Fellow Program. General Clark was awarded the Silver Star for his gallantry in Vietnam, was a Rhodes Scholar, a four-star general, and served as the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO (and would make a great President in 2008). General Clark's record of service to our country speaks for itself, and I'm honored that he is making this trip to the Coastal Bend on behalf of my campaign to offer new leadership for a new direction.

Please visit the WESPAC homepage at www.securingamerica.com, as well as the Garcia Campaign website at www.electjuangarcia.com, for more information about this event.

Together we can build a Texas future as big and as proud as its past.

Hope to see you Thursday,
Juan Garcia

1. How did it go?
There is some early blogging at the Red State with a few pictures but it was very short.

We want more details please. Throw us some meat.

there so we'll see plenty of media coverage. Clark was really good, and Garcia was phenomenal.

Also, I was leaning toward Gammage but still persuadable. After Clark's rousing plea for Gammage, and after speaking with Gammage, I'm 100% on board.

5. The WiFi reception was poor inside the Selena Auditorium
So poor Eddie of The Red State had to either go outside and miss the action or stay inside and miss the blogging. There were lots of people and lots of excitement.

South Texas Chisme tells us that the GOP county chair showed up to spy on the competition.

I went to an after-party and it was great! Lots of good people to meet and lots of good food.

6. List of heavy hitters at the announcement is impressive
State Party Chair Charles Soechting, former Land Commissioner Gary Mauro and former state house speaker Turman. That's quite a reception for a first time candidate running for a Texas House Seat. I'd say the Juan Garcia campaign has hit the ground running hard.

Glad to hear about the great turnout Meg, and that you got to go to the party. That's always the best part. Hobnobbing with the politicos.

9. Thanks for posting everyone.
I'm in Victoria, and my husband knew I wanted to go but couldn't with our situation with the kids being what it is. I'm really glad the turnout was so good.
