Tom DeLay "doesnt want to get involved"
In 2000 BNSF and 4 chemical companies proposed a rail carrying toxic chemicals through my neighborhoods in Clear Lake, south of Houston. Every politician, except one, was against this rail and was VERY active in their opposition.

That exception was, you guessed it, Tom DeLay. He "didn't want to get involved" probably because he accepted so much money from the companies involved.

We were VERY active and so far have stopped the train in it's tracks. No thanks to tom.

1. Good for you!
I assume that DeLay is your Congressman, but even if he's not, you should get this information out to his constituents with the words, "Does he want to get invovled in helping you, or is he only interested in helping special interests?"

2. All it takes is one incident
to ruin someones whole life. And i am a railroad fan from years of involvement in volunteer non profit railroading and life long interests...
I hate the idea of a derailment and gassing in a heavily populated neighborhood.

4. Way to go John!
You could give your little skeleton friend a different sign, or give him a buddy saying "Killed by train derailment."

Spread this story everywhere you go, babe. That asshole is slime.

5. Hey! I need that rail line!

For competitive purposes - the Union Pacific has no competition into that area and has no incentive to provide rail service at reasonable rates. A second carrier brings in that competitive leverage.

Plus: our company does not ship dangerous chemicals.
