SDEC committee person will be polling their SD for TDP chair election
What a great idea!

An SDEC committee person I ran into last night told me that they will be polling their senate district about their preference for TDP chair and will vote for the winner on April 22.

1. Mine has already sent a note out indicating she's
supporting Ritchie.

2. That's too bad
Perhaps if she gets wind of what her neighboring SDEC person is doing she'll follow suit?

3. And let's not forget
That whoever the SDEC elects April 22, at the convention in June, we'll be electing both a new chair and a new SDEC.

4. I'd have to say that's unlikely.
But you knew that. A friend spoke to her male counterpart at the CEC meeting with the same results.

9. Awwright
Guess you're trying to say it's REALLY hopeless. Too bad you have such an undemocratic SDEC person.

5. I got the same notice at THREE of my e-mails
The funny thing is one of the e-mails is being phased out, but our SDEC committee woman has all of them and though, when anyone asks to contact us, she refuses to give out the e-mail list and she alone does the forwarding. Guess what. Within minutes of getting the message from her, I got e-mails from Boyd Richie at all three of the addys. Hmmmm, how would he have that one that's being phased out? I guess I'll have to ask, next time we need something sent out and get that "I can't give you the addys. I'll personally send the notices out."

11. My reps seemed very open minded, until the Maxey email hit.
I think that did it for Maxey. They were not very happy with his stupidity and divisiveness.(sp?) Although neither have said they have made up their mind. I could tell there was some concerns.

But, they did ask people to stand and provide info on the other candidates and they encouraged us to provide any opinions.

I have already voiced my concern about Maxey's email. We didnt need the negative publicity he brought with that damn email.

If I was an SDEC member, I would write off Maxey immediately.

12. They only get to vote on April 22
and the body votes at the convention.

Did I hear that your SDEC person is stepping down or was it your chair? Either way, Coby for SDEC or Chair! Though I've heard your SDEC guy is dynOmite. That being said, do you think your SDEC folks are as hopeless as WHD's? Would they poll the SD if you suggested it?

14. Me for SDEC? Hum.......Well I never thought of that.
Yes, one of our SDEC members will not run again. And yes Karl Silverman is DYNOMITE!

But we may have a replacement that is willing to work hard and be very active. So we will be promoting him.

My SDEC folks are pretty good. In the past they were furniture taking up space and getting a title. We will not let that happen again. Who ever takes Karls position will have to be qualified.

13. I thought the Maxey email was ill-advised
Until the Bell email came out.

Whether the push for Richie was done in a smoke-filled room, via email, or by people blinking morse code to one another, it had DEAL written all over it.

New Dem Chair

The Texas Democratic Party Chair has announced that he won't be running again when his term expires next June. Here's a novel idea. If the Smart Dame and Da Bell end up being our top nominees after the March '06 primaries, let's let them pick the next Chair. Since they will be leading the ticket, doesn't it make sense for them to have a say on who leads the Dem Party's apparatus? The leaders of the various Dem interest groups/caucuses need to tell the state chair wannabees to stop being wannabees and wait for the top nominees - once they become the top nominees - to make the choice.

proposed by another consultant who went to high school with Mr. Maxey

Coinkeedink?

17. hmm...
I wonder for all the yapping Mr. John O'Connell does, how his precinct voter turnout and results for his precinct in Bexar County did in relation to the rest of the state and county did, how fantastic of a job as precinct chair he does.

I'll be sure to look it up. Maybe if he had access to some of the tools Maxey could provide, he would do better. My guess is he would rather play the ostrich and keep his head in the sand.

18. not sure how John O'Connell and Bexar county fit in
but if Maxey weren't elected wouldn't he provide the tools as a consultant for the right amount of $$$ like he has done in the past? Will the phrase "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free" apply if Maxey is elected?

Doubt it.
