Moving update
No,not an "emotional" update, this is about me moving back home to the Lone Star, but you may want to have your box of tissues handy anyway. You may laugh (at me) so hard you'll cry.

Saturday night I put my daughter on a plane to Boston. I came home (60 miles) from the airport and went to bed so I could get started moving furniture Sunday Morning. The plan was to rent a storeage space for the stuff I will have to leave here and come back for it later.

Ms. Ashling called me from Austin about 11:00 pm PST. The connection was pretty bad so I suggested we hang up and she wouild call me right back.

I waited . . . and waited . . . and decided that maybe she thought I was going to call her, so I picked up the phone, to BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP and another BEEP for good measure. I hung up and checked all the phones in the house and tried again.

This time the phone was completely dead! Later on it jussed HISSSSSed at me. Reminded me of that Bull snake in the toilet out at the Llano place, but that's another story.

So I went down to the 7-11 and called Ms. Ashling. She had been trying to call me and left several messages.

When I got back to the house I went straight upstairs to bed. When the alarm went of the next morning I jumped right out of bed - yeah right! . . . afterslapping the snooze button about siz times.

I reached over to get my glasses, but they weren't there. Not to worry. I sometimes will get up to go to the bathroom at night and leave my glasses in there. (hey, when you get up about half a hundred years old it happens, OK?!) But they weren't there either.

Still , not to worry. Sometimes I will wander in to the kitchen or the office at night and leave my glasses in there. Its not really sleepwalking, but almost.

I searched the whole house. NO GLASSES!

To worry!

Well, I found my prescription sunglasses, so now I can see - outside. Unfortunately, all the stuff I have to move is inside. So it looks like tommorrow I am going to have to buy a new pair of glasses.

The phone is miraculously working again (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this) but I finally got the phone co. to send a technician tommorrow between 8 AM and noon. He will probably be here at 8AM sharp and want to charge me around $100 for the trip since my phone is not broken - unless I can call and cancel the trip. Unfortunately, they don't open until 8 AM, so that is not very likely. Now If I really needed him he wouldn't get here until about 3 PM after I had been waiting all day.

WOW! The computer screem jidt gor geal brighrt. May be becauase I tool og my aasun flasses ...howeber I cann0t see whar I aan tybin.
so I betertr go now.

2. Possibly, But I really think
it is the cat. Lately she has had a lean and sneaky look.

To be fair, all cats have a sneaky look ( and it's not really a "lean" look, I just thought that made it sound more Shakespearian.)

She jumps up on things and knocks stuff off and then just looks at you like "what do you think about that - here, I'll do it again." After which she knocks something else off. Once it is on the floor it is down on her level, so there is no telling what she does with it then.

4. It has been pretty hot here lately
well, hot for here anyway. 2 or 3 days of 95 or better. I know, thats not bad by home standards, but because they don't get that kind of weather much up here, they don't have air conditioning! I keep telling myself if its going to be this damn hot, I ought to at least be HOME.

. . . and spontaneous combustion is not entirely out of the question, either.
